First Half of Program 

Learn design fundamentals such as elements, principles, typography, and layout, alongside mastering digital tools like Adobe Creative Suite and Canva for image editing and UX design.

Introduction to Design

  • What is design?

  • Historical context: Influential design movements and designers.

  • Elements and principles of design (line, shape, color, balance, etc.)

  • Typography: Fonts, readability, and hierarchy.

  • Layout and composition.

  • Visual storytelling

Digital Tools & Softwares

  • Introduction to graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.).

  • Basic image editing and manipulation.

  • User experience (UX) design.

  • Human-centered design principles.

  • Prototyping and usability testing.

Second Half of Program 

Explore diverse career paths in design and emerging trends like sustainable design and AR/VR, culminating in a capstone project demonstrating skills through projects like website redesign or UX case studies.

Career & Trends

  • Exposure to different carrer options including graphic design, web design, industrial design, UX/UI design, Motion graphics, advertising and branding.

  • Emerging trends and tech in design including sustainable design, AR & VR, Data visualization, and design thinking.​

Capstone Project

  • Combine all the learning and make a unique capstone project.

Prerequisites

Middle School Students (Grades 6 to 8). High School Students can also apply

No prior sketching, designing or wire framing experience required.

The CurvyChic website design project was initiated to address challenges prevalent in the online fashion industry, particularly concerning the representation of curvy individuals. Our goal was to create a platform that celebrates diversity, promotes inclusivity, and empowers users to embrace their unique style with confidence.

In the Exploremate project, my primary objective was to revolutionize the user experience and interface of booking apps. I set out to create an ultimate booking app with a sleek design, empowering users to effortlessly discover, compare, and book flights, hotels, activities, and more all within one cohesive platform

In spearheading the Homeiva project, my overarching goal was to redefine the smart home experience for users everywhere. With Homeiva, I envisioned a user-friendly app that seamlessly integrates into daily life, offering effortless control over home appliances from any location.

As a mentee working on the CurvyChic website design project, I was inspired by the opportunity to contribute to a platform that promotes inclusivity and celebrates diversity in fashion. Collaborating with my mentor and utilizing advanced design tools like Illustrator and Figma, I learned invaluable skills that will undoubtedly help me in future. The project allowed me to explore the intersection of design and social impact, highlighting the importance of representation and accessibility in online spaces. I am grateful for the guidance and support of my mentor whose feedback really helped me a lot.
